Interesting. The AP story didn't mention anything like that, and in fact made it sound like it was a triumphant success.
 
 What is this guy anyway? He used to be called a magician, but he's about as magical as the Jackass crew. Seems like he's just someone who has better-than-average endurance.

that about sums him up, to me.  the problem with this latest stunt/trick/attention-getter/etc is that while incredibly dangerous, people can't relate to it or appreciate the difficulty.  the public "gets" that being encased in ice, or living underwater, or many of his other feats, are in fact difficult.  but hanging upside down?  6-year-old kids do that from a jungle gym set all day long.  never mind that doctors pointed out how risky this stunt actually was, it just doesn't look dangerous.  not stating beforehand that he was going to take breaks didn't help his (weak) cause.
