despite lolla being cancelled, they are still touring. Anyone seen 'em live? Are they any good? My only hope is that they won't play any of their new crap (meaning everything up to Dirty).   :)

They are amazing live.

They may be old, but they are not an oldies act. Expect almost all jammy new material.

I just got an email from their website.  Looks like they'll be playing the 930 August 11th.  Tickets are not on sale yet.

sonic youth will undoubtedly play for 90 minutes, of which 45 minutes will be comprised of the new material, and the rest will be comprised of one or two songs from each of their other albums since  EVOL. i've seen sonic youth about 15 times now, and i'll keep seeing them until they break up or i die, whichever comes first.

Nah, that'll be fantastic.  They were one of the extra bonuses I found in going to Lollapalooza.  Hopefully they'll be on board.

You have no idea what you would be missing if they did that.

They were pretty good the last time I saw them at the Club. I'll probably take a pass on them this time.

I suspect the pre-sale will be in the next 930 club monthly newsletter.
