The vast majority of the bands that play here are carrying their own opening acts, which is predetermined by them, not by us. If they are not carrrying their own openers, it is generally because they don't want any, for production and/or show timing reasons. On the rare occasion that we are able to offer a local act the opportunity to open for a national act, the opener still needs to be approved by the headliner's management. Usually they want a band that will help the show, i.e is already an etablished draw in this market. 70 people, while significant, is not enough to get the attention of artist management in most cases. They want an act that can consistently draw 2-300+. So keep playing around town, and do as many good opening slots as you can to expand your fanbase.
