amazing set lists! I've been a long time fan actually. back in 2002, I discovered your radio show online. About a year ago, I transfered to University of Maryland to study journalism. I've been at WMUC radio for about a year now, i started out as a fill-in dj and such. I've had a show for the past semester (two if you count this one). I was hoping to someday meet you at the station or something, but of course, I found out that they made you leave (which is stupid!!!!)

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed Thursday's set and I have a lot of respect for you. When I learned to record scratch when I was 13, there weren't many women who dj'ed. (granted i might not have heard of them becuase i'm from rural western maryland) I gave up scratching when I was 17, because my friend who taught me and worked with me moved away and I got frustrated with it. Your set Thursday made me realize how much I doing it. So thanks for being an inspiration.

I just about completely second saintangelsin too. I used to listen to your show both online and on campus consistently (volunteered at WMUC/guested on a show often also). I really enjoyed your Friday setlist --- especially b/c I knew 90% of it! Any kid that knows about crustation, boom boom satellites, alice russell and aromabar is a hero in my book -- period. you're a real downtempo listener and I could always tell from each show I've heard from you. i love to spin and work on downtempo stuff -- so I also felt really good listening to your setlist (namely the krush - on painted desert remix!). I'm planning to go to the DNB Session later this month too. hope to see you there!

This was my first time being billed as the opening act.  It would've been my first time playing from the stage, too, but Massive Attack's gear took up all the available room, so I did my set from the DJ booth up in the corner.

Since fall 2002, I've done something like 15 sets from the 9:30 Club's DJ booth, playing the music before, between, and/or after bands.  I think the highlights have been playing for shows by the Orb, Gotan Project, Groove Armada, Zero 7, and Thievery Corporation (and of course Massive Attack!).

It's great to know that some of you have been following me since my time at WMUC!  It's unfortunate how things ended over there, but ah well... that's politics.  Since then, I've been doing online radio, as well as DJing in D.C. and beyond.

Hope to see some of you at the D'n'B Sessions event at Five on Oct. 25!  (And no, I will not be playing d'n'b.  ;)   )

This will make you laugh or atleast smile, but I told a bunch of people at wmuc about your set and opening for massive attack and I swear those who were um "political" just about kicked themselves i think.

I am marking my calendar for that event you mentioned. I have no clue where Five is, but I'm sure I can go check it out!

ps- I would love to have you as a guest dj or host or whatever for my radio show. granted if you ever have the time and such. I'm all about mixing it up on my radio show and promoting good djs and club events.

Hmm... I thought maybe I'd played "Indra," but if so, I didn't write it down.

I'll check the recording of that night to see if it matches the set list I posted.  I'm usually pretty good about writing tracks down as I play them (or shortly afterward), but occasionally I miss one!

I recorded both sets, but unfortunately, I'm still getting used to my new iAudio and both recordings came out distorted because the input level was too high.  I might be re-creating one or both sets, in which case I'll post audio links here.

Turns out I did indeed play Thievery Corporation's "Indra" on Thursday and forgot to write it down.

I went back and listened to the MP3s I'd recorded, and although the last 45 minutes of the Friday set were too distorted to be usable, the Thursday set and the first 69 minutes of the Friday set sounded acceptable.
