I was very sad to hear of the passing of Randy Rawlinson, bassist of the wonderful Glenmont Popes, and an all-around nice guy.  Randy passed away a few months ago but many of us did not know until a day or two ago.  This is truly a loss for the Baltimore-DC music scene as Randy was a talented musician, and was just plain fun to be around. Every Glenmont Popes show was an adventure; easily one of the best local bands I have heard in a long, long time, and guaranteed to draw an energetic and fun crowd.  Randy was definitely a part of the Popes charm and always managed to entertain folks while looking oh so cool on stage.

I am grateful for every chance I had to see the Popes; I'm sorry for the loss of Randy. My thoughts are with those closest to Randy.  And I am once again reminded how many other talented musicians this extended family has mourned over the years.
