ARTICS

Awe Yeah....C'mon

They came out on stage and played like angry unloved children with bad hair and quick English accents.  Not like little hatchlings mouthing "chirp chirp" at birth breaking through their shells, but rather like Salt Crocs looking for their first Gazelle to gnaw on.  Their songs were loud, fast, and hard.  The 45-minutes of straight playing time with no encore left the 9:30 Club crowd wanting at least one more tune, but that wasn't happening.  The band looked as if they had a late night appointment on a popular TV program and wanted to get out of the club fast. The drummer looked like he was twelve-years old and took the lead on vocals for one of the songs which got the crowd all rowdy.  The base guitar player sweated profusely and he strummed a fast rhythmic English (Old Style Rock Band) beat.  The lead singer, tall and lean with sweet English-Syle Mike Myers hair jammed on.  Talented and young but with large sound.

I'm confused about so many things:

 - this whole time, I thought Alec, the 15 year old posting about Angels & Airwaves, was Alex, who has been posting here a long time.

 - Is Band of Horses or Margaret & the Nuclear So Sos the new buzz band?  How can I tell them apart?

 - Is Hoya3 the same as Hoya?  Who is Roy Hibbert?

 - as GGW said in another thread, I'm confused about liking popular bands or not.  I've been accused of being too mainstream and then of being a snob.  Someone just tell me what I'm supposed to like. <----- where's Rhett when you need him?    ;)

as a sign of solidarity (much like the striking french transportation workers) i changed my name during the lead-up to the round of 16 to celebrate the man-child 7'2" hoyas center Roy Hibbert ... i don't think there are any other hoyas on here, as a group, we tend to gravitate towards shitty frat rock and new jersey hair metal

That means you're probably going by your own muse. Nothing wrong with that.  :)
