This'll be my first time at the 930, so I have no idea about the lay-out of the place. Going to see Kraftwerk on 5-31. I'm 5'3"--will I be able to see pretty good if someone taller is standing in front of me? Planning on bringing my binoculars too, so don't have to be up close, but would rather be. I read an earlier message that said you can sit upstairs until the crowd fills up. What is upstairs? Appreciate any help or suggestions.

You'll have to perfect the art of "looking around" them. Obviously if a 6'5" person is dead in front of you, you might need to move a few feet left or right.

That's so incredibly not necessary, and people will laugh at you. Out loud and to your face. Seriously. I'm only saying this because I love you, and don't want you to get your feelings hurt.

Upstairs is a provincial term we use for "the second floor of the building." This particular second floor runs around the sides of the building so you can look down on such "downstairs" locations as the "dance floor" or "stage."

Don't worry about it so much, you're going to a nightclub, not war.

binoculars will not be needed, the 9:30 club is not the size of an opera house.

the club consists of two levels.  the main floor level where most of the people see the show from will be standing room only.

the second level which is a balcony surrounding the main floor area has bleachers where during the show people stand if it's soldout.

my suggestion is get there earlish and plan on standing near the railing on the second level.  you may be able to seat near the railing before the club fills up.

Thank you, kosmo, for the info.

And thanks to you too, Julian. Gee whiz, I hope I don't trip getting off the short yellow school bus when it drops me off! Would hate to miss the concert!!

For best sound, I like to stand by the mixing board.  For best view, you want to hang on the 2nd floor by the railing (that way no one can get in front of you).

I too will be there monday.  It will be great.
