ACL hotel recommendations
« on: May 31, 2005, 05:25:00 pm »
Looks like I'm doing this...anyone have hotel recommendations for us?  Either specific hotels (best) or general areas would be a huge help, as I've only stayed at a big conference center out there before.

as close as you can get to the shuttle pickup is a good thought that way you don't have to worry about parking.  i don't have any specific suggestions right now.. gotta get on the road to go up for kraftwerk.  if no one's given some answers later tonight/tomorrow, i'll give some suggestions
the only thing i can say is book as soon as you can (since you haven't already) because stuff that's close gets booked fast and also they raise the prices.

There isn't info on shuttle pickup locations yet.

I went last year and the lines for the shuttle buses & cabs are ridiculous at the end of the night.  We ended up hitching a ride back to our hotel two nights and on the third day we rented a car.  There is plenty of parking along the road leading to the park.

I just hope it is not as hot as it was last year!

I recommend the downtown Hilton.  Walking distance to 6th St. area for after parties; and the shuttle usually comes within l blk. of it.  Reserve now and you'll get a decent rate.  Best concierge in America:  Tarik Carter.   Great pool and health club where you're sure to hang with some bands...within two miles of venue for ACL (can't remember  the name of the park, but I think it's Rilker...).
