De Novo Dahl
« on: December 15, 2003, 12:21:00 pm »
De Novo Dahl will go down as my best discovery of the 2003, when I caught them live at IPO Balto.  Hailing from Murfreesboro, TN this young sextet have release an amazing mature sounding six track EP of lush well written pop songs.  Pulling from all the classic British 60's influences, Brian Wilson, and a touch of new wave and Pet Shops Boys in the mix.  Of course this band isn't for ever one.  If ya favor power chords, people screaming,  emo bands who all have the same guitar sound, it probably wont be your cup of tea.  It should be because this band has got the goods.

"Mishka" hit me as really good...I think I wasn't paying enough attention to the others (as I'm at work and doing, you know, work).  Very cool, though -- discovering new bands is so much fun.  I feel that way about Scout, though I bought a CD, didn't see them perform.
