I originally saw 16 Horsepower when they opened for Morphine at the old Black Cat in 1996 (could have been 1995). Flash forward 12 years and David Eugene Edwards is still making wonderful music with his new band Wovenhand who are playing Friday at IOTA. They do not tour America much so this was a treat to do. Screen printed on dark olive green using black and metallic silver. I also finished a poster for their hometown show in Colorado. You can see details at El Jefe Design.

I listened to their album, but it didn't do it for me. I do like 16 Horsepower though.

 Nice poster work as always...

I went.  I thought it was a great show.  The shows over the past summer were duos so it was a nice surprise to have this show be a trio with Pascal from 16 Horsepower and Lilium.  The encore started off with a verse of "Black Soul Choir" but that was the only 16 Horsepower that I caught during the set.  And Pascal fucking rocks.

we had them here at johnny brenda's on thursday. they blew my mind. one of the rare occasions where i actually had chills down my spine. they were as hypnotizing and as good as the bad seeds were two weeks ago, and that was awesome. whoever didn't go to iota missed out.

I believe it is "The Wovenhands" to those in the know.
