I was doing my lunchtime run on the Mall, and I see Robby's Cup car and two Jim Beam Indy cars doing laps around the perimeter road between 4th and 7th. So I stop over by their truck, and the cars stop and much to my disappointment it's a crew guy driving the car, not Robby. But then Robby appears out of the crowd and says to the crew guy , "Hey, what are you doing driving my car," and proceeds to give the next ride to some old guy in a suit. He gunned it and did a peel out, swerving down 4th Street like he was celebrating a Daytona victory.
When I ran by on my return, he had the hood up and was showing some guy the engine. I stopped and shook his hand, and said it was nice to meet him, though I'd prefer it if he were Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart, Little E, or Dick Trickle. Then I asked him how he felt about Jeff Burton taking over the #31 from him and turning it into a winner.
