Is Amy Lee the 21st century Axl Rose?
« on: May 07, 2007, 01:32:00 pm »
She fired the drummer and guitarist over the weekend even though they are starting a new tour in a couple of weeks and are co-headlining this Summer's Family Values tour.

What does that bring the total up to?  Two guitarists (one, the co-writer of most of their debut), a bass player and a drummer?  Plus, the drama with the dude from Seether?

It was also reveiled that Evanescence's next album will be called "Arkansas Democracy."

Until she is causing riots on stage and starting fights with photographers and fashion designers she is no Axl Rose. Plus, I think Axl is a bit thinner thanks to the heroin abuse.

HA! Ain't that the truth. Although the Fall is at least a trillion times better than Evanescence. Better band name too.

until she creates something that even comes close to comparing to Appetite for Destruction, there's no way she should be even mentioned in the same breath ... the reason Axl gets so much attention is because he was once great, Amy Lee doesn't get that same leeway

Amy Lynn Lee (born December 13, 1981 in Riverside, California) is an American singer-songwriter and classically-trained pianist. She is a founding member and lead singer of the Grammy Award winning rock band Evanescence. Her influences range from classical musicians such as Mozart to modern artists like Kurt Cobain, Björk, Tori Amos, Danny Elfman[1] and Plumb.[2]

Have you heard Von Südenfed? It's a new collaboration between MESmith and Mouse On Mars. There's a great track called "Family Feud" on the latest Wire Tapper CD (number 17, included with May 2007 copies, plus they're the cover stars).
