Agreed. Excellent show. Can't convince my wife or daughter to watch it with me though.

It really jumped the shark after season 1 or 2.

I bet my partner and kids will want to watch it though…

personally, loved it all
I will cede, quality went down, but still much better than almost every other mainstream tv comedy series (other than schitt's creek and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson)

Jason is so great in this role...comedic and inspiring at the same time
that's hard to do

I feel like the show started of breezy and low pressure. . . The subsequent seasons (especially season 3) took themselves way too seriously.
There's a reason that sitcoms work in the 22 min. format, but they were taking big swings and leaning into way bigger things without the time, talent and subtly that it takes to balance the heavy with the effervescent. The show was best when it focused on the personal foibles with a bit of real-world strife as opposed to a real-world problems focused show, with offbeat characters.
WHAT?

Pretty certain it wasn't a comedy after Season 1.

Abbott Elementary is the best comedy of current shows, imo.

This week's White Lotus might be an early contender for the best episode of TV we will see this year. What a sumptuously shot hour of television.

Additionally, this week's Righteous Gemstones might be the most hilarious, joke-filled episode they've ever done. Every character's main story was amazing.

Great night for HBO.

have been enjoying this season of WL

I tried TRGs again...I can't stand or enjoy it
I get about zero pleasure from Danny McBride, his schtick does nothing for me
same goes for Adam Devine, I loved workaholics, but he has made millions playing the same character for the last decade

this might have been worth watching
On February 24, 2021, it was announced that the series would be returning as a film, intended for release on Paramount+.However, on January 9, 2023, it was announced that the film had been canceled, just five weeks before filming was set to begin.
