Liberte is indeed a  standard poodle, not one of those toy dogs.  Poodles are most likely a German breed, though Libby was born in France and stuck with that name before we acquired her as an adult.  I get all the social weirdness I need here, though, and have never felt the urge to join an official poodle club.  (Paige and I have no personal connection that I'm aware of, BTW.  You'll have to ask her directly about any suspicious fluffy-dog predilections.)  
 
 GGW:  Good suggestion, but we have not acted on it--yet, anyway.  I don't know whether there were littermates E and F, either.
