Thousands indulged at "Lustonbury"
Fri Jul 11, 7:33 AM ET

LONDON (Reuters) - No wonder this year's Glastonbury Festival was billed the best ever -- almost 25,000 people said they had sex while also enjoying the music at the country's biggest open-air music event.

A frisky 22 percent of the 112,000-strong crowd had sex during the three-day festival, a survey by music magazine NME showed this week.

Friday was the favourite day for a romp at the sprawling Somerset dairy farm, where the festival was staged last month, with 56 percent of those who indulged choosing that day.

Saturday was markedly less lusty, with just six percent getting saucy, followed by 13 percent on Sunday.

Glastonbury also lived up to its druggie reputation -- 65,000 who took part in NME's online survey said they took drugs, with alcohol the favourite choice, followed by dope.

The magazine said 71,000 festival-goers saw others naked at the site.

Three-quarters of those questioned thought the infamous toilets were "like a cesspit".

Of the acts, respondents were most impressed by Radiohead, who polled 9-1/2 out of 10 with them after they headlined the festival on Saturday night.

U.S. band REM got eight for their Friday performance, with Moby receiving 6-1/2 for his Sunday slot.

NME said 66% called the 2003 festival mind-blowing. Less than one percent called it overrated. Just three percent were affected by crime.

People get tired and grungier as the weekend progresses, therefore, less sex.

Get this, Sigur Rós trashed their instruments. LOL. This surprised me too, a friend´s husband works for the band and told us that Jonsi sometimes trashes dressing rooms now and then.

I saw some webcasts of some of the acts from this year and have to give a lot of credit to those who did the sound. It was so much better than any past performances that I heard. Of course, the webcasts and such may have been a lot better technically too.

See us brits like to shag!  ;)  Had that been in the US all the women would've been standing around trying to get a glimpse of their reflection to make sure they look okay while asking everyone if Brad had asked about them, while the men would've been stood with a stale bottle of Bud in one hand while the other would be raised above their heads with the index finger and pinkie finger sticking up and the other two and thumb bent over, while yelling "WHOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO, YOU RAWK!"

But the booze also kicks in as the weekend progresses so people don't care!
