I saw the 2 NYC shows the other weekend plus last night's in Bethesda. All in all... wow... Bauhaus still is tops on my list. The set last night sounded absolutely great and in my opinion, they seemed a little less "scripted" than the two NYC shows. Last night's set was a little longer than the Saturday NYC show but shorter than the Friday of that weekend. I'm so glad I went...
... And I really liked the Strathmore, this being my first visit since they've renovated (I'm still kicking myself for missing Dead Can Dance).
That said, though, I don't know that I cared for seeing Bauhaus at a "seated" show. There seemed to be a little disconnect between the band and the crowd, which is to be expected when you are all not jamming into each other trying to get as close as possible. I think I prefer the energy of a General Admission show for certain bands--- Bauhaus being one.
And of course there is something a little weird about not having a smoke machine for Bauhaus.
Lost a bit of the spookiness or something.
All in all, though--- great show, and I will keep going to see Bauhaus as long as they keep playing!
