"i tried listening to one of his cd's, don't even know which one, but was completely put off by it."

Venerable one,
That was me exactly until I did go check him out recently to see what all the fuss was about.
I left a convert. I still don't listen to any of the CDs a lot, but I'll treat an opportunity to see him and his Saddle Creek cronies all up on stage as can't miss.

ugh, I love Bright Eyes, but I just can't go to indie shows (and most emo ones, too, for that matter) anymore.
People just stand there! Whereas I, being small, borderline-hyperactive and blessed with the ability to not be easily embarrassed, feel it is my duty to dance like I'm having a seizure when the spirit moves me (which is often) because, why not? And there's only so many dirty looks I can get before I start wanting to punch people. Fricking indie kids, with their perfect clothes and hair and my-favourite-band-is-completely-obscure-so-it-must-be-better-than-YOUR-favourite-band attitudes. At least act like you enjoy yourselves, people! If you hate the music that much, then why on earth do you go to the shows? :P
Heh. Don't listen to me, I'm just letting off steam. Been one of *those* days.
