« on: May 17, 2007, 11:40:00 am »
i'll be there with the boy which makes me nervous, he's never heard them an i suspect he won't be a fan. my two normal concert buddies backed out.

regardless, i can't wait. i'm one of those nerds who got tickets in february. that's right... FEBRUARY.

Sadly it probably wont, even sadder is that the FINAL show in their hometown hasn't either.  Safe to say this is probably why they are closing shop rather than the official "the guitarist left, so we're done" excuse.  They are one of my favorite bands and the fact they've remained "small" was nice because they played cool venues and there was always room to jump around.  The downside is that no band can survive with just me and few other geeks like me in their fan base......

i agree. i am such a fan girl when it comes to pgmg. i started listening to them at the end of high school/beginning of college and remember first hearing 'if you hate you're friends you're not alone' and 'speakers push air' and immediately falling in love with them.

andrea has such a great stage presence. i last saw them open for alkaline trio at the club... in 2002 maybe?

it makes me extremely sad to this end, especially to a not sold-out crowd.

I'll be there in the back selling posters and drinking Dominion Root Beer. This is my fifth time seeing them and they are one of my fave bands right now. My wife, who will be there helping, is not a huge fan but ALWAYS loves the openers for some reason. First time it was Tangiers and the last time it was Giant Drag. Maybe she'll get lucky again....

I'm going to buy a poster off the web, unfortunately I'll be out of town the next week and a half so I won't be able to see the Black Cat show, but I'm traveling the road to seattle to see the final show on June 9th, it'll be a bitter sweet goodbye...sorta like the last Sleater-Kinney show in Portland I'm sure it'll be awesome but sad.

There's no way I'd pass up a chance to see them one more time before they're gone.  I'll be there.  And I bought my ticket on March 3, miss pretentious.  :)

what a fantastic show.  it wasn't a sell out but it still looked pretty packed.  the crowd was really into their set all the way through.  it's sad to see em go but i can't think of a better way to end it with speakers push the air when everyone up front was going nuts.  loved it.

Moon Rats was really good as well. I believe it was PGMG's old guitar players new band and I wish I bought a CD. Could only hear about half the songs before the wife had to go. Oh well.

my only complaint was the boy behind me singing louder than andrea.

and when speakers push the air came on i told my boy to just get out of the way. i knew it was going to get too crazy for the non-fans.
