visual were indeed impressive, that light-studded curtain that they unveiled half-way through the show was very cool. energy was high, both from the band and the crowd. good banter between songs that didn't go on for too long (thank gawd). i thought the sound was a little muddy at times, though. is jake shears from this area? his parents and numerous family members were in attendance.
the opening act, "wigs on a stick", ROCKED. they were, well, wigs on sticks
the hair pieces were set up on poles with mics in front of them, and pre-recorded 50's girl-band music was played along with typical opening band banter ("you guys are the best audience we've ever played to", "are you gius excited for the opening band, the scissor sisters?!?", etc). a funny parody of an opening band
