Death Cab Brakes for Animals

Peta2, the youth arm of PETA, is giving away copies of Death Cab for Cutie's 2005 DVD, Drive Well, Sleep Carefully, along with a limited edition poster of the band's Spin cover. DCFC guitarist Chris Walla has been a vegetarian since he was 13, and has supported PETA in the past. "Factory farming is just disgusting," Walla said in a Peta2 statement. "All you have to do is look at a couple of photographs, and it's not hard to figure that out." The contest on peta2.com to win Death Cab merch ends Jan. 23.

Death Cab is not the only rock band stumping for PETA: Sleater-Kinney, the Shins, and Le Tigre have teamed up with Peta2 in the past.
