Colin Meloy is the Herman Melville of songwriters (think poetic, adventurous writing, without the boring interludes of Moby-Dick). He's a master lyricist able to rhyme almost anything in some beautiful yet completely unexpected way. He's also a strong guitar player and his vocals are unique and powerful. If his singing is less than perfect, well, that's just part of his down-to-earth charm.
