Broken Social DJ Set List

Wasn't that a lovely night? What a nice band they are. Very nice. Here is what we all enjoyed before/between and after from those magic decks in the sky...

 The Who - Baba OReily
 The Kinks - Lola
Lungfish - Friend to Friend in Endtime
 Heart - Little Queen
Koufax - Why Bother At All
 Ted Leo/Pharmacists - I'm a Ghost
 The Clash - Pressure Drop
Hanoi Rocks = Lost in the City
Q and Not U - So Many Animal Calls
Pretty Things - Come See Me
 Afghan Whigs - Debonair
 David Bowie - Young Americans
Trail of Dead - Mistakes and Regrets
Grand National - Playing in the Distance
Mudhoney - Touch Me I'm Sick
Raveonettes - Great Love Sound (kara's special remix)
 Beachbuggy - Killer B
Jesus and Mary Chain - Snakedriver
 Pink Grease - Fever
 Cheap Trick - He's a Whore
Division of Laura Lee - Dirty Love
At this point in the set, I get what I can only describe as the greatest compliment my DJing has ever received: someone from Broken Social (who shall remain annonymous) told me the music was rockin... perhaps a little "too rockin." Whoa! I then went on a knee-jerk reactionary tirade accusing him of blasphemy, for there can never be too much rock (and come on... the Raveonettes don't rock THAT hard). Then I took a deep, cleansing breath, switched to decaf, and stuck in the new Sufjan Stevens (Illinoise) until Feist went on.

 Apollo Sunshine - Ghost
 Apollo Sunshine - Flip
Then, to calm down a little again, we had several piece de resistances from Do Make Say Think... I'm pretty sure like 8 or 9 of Broken Social's guitarists and at least 3 of their drummers are in that band.
 *******************
 Dismemberment Plan - Sentimental Man
Television - Marquee Moon, GNR - Yesterdays, Oingo Boingo - Little Girls.
Beautiful show. Very pretty everything. And I can never say enough wonderful things about the overworked/underpaid 9:30 staff. Until next time,
Peace, Love, and Rock and Roll.
