Danzig/Misfits
« on: September 13, 2007, 08:53:00 am »
Yesterday in the Rams Head email newsletter, it said Danzig "playing the songs of the misfits", but it's not listed like that on their site.

From what I've read, they do at least a 1/2 hour set of Misfits songs.  (which for Misfits songs probably means about 15 songs...)

 Just to clarify.

so the rest is just Danzig stuff? or what?  hmmm, this is a huge deal to me and its a big difference on which songs he's playing, as i've seen him a few times, and never seen him sing misfits songs!

It will probably be like it was a few years ago. Danzig toured, and brought Doyle along with him. he would do his solo stuff for the first half of the show. Then bring Doyle out and play Misfits songs. Doyle would leave, Danzig would break back into his solo stuff. Then for the encore, he would bring Doyle back ou and play Misfits songs. All together, you got about 30 or so minutes of Misfits material.

I am guessing it's how Cash described.  I think it would be worth it.  But, I've never seen Danzig.  Just the Misfits with a different lead singer back in 1998/1999.  They were still good though, but it wasn't the same.

but see, i have heard that Danzig did do that before, but danzig "playing the songs of the misfits" sure makes one think he's doing an all misfits set.

oh well.  i am still there.

I agree.  Maybe a call to Rams Head is in order?

Actually, they were pretty good back when I saw them.  It was cheap and something fun to do on a Saturday night in college.

I saw Danzig twice on his first post-samhain tour...he did all the Misfits songs that Samhain had covered.  Horror Business, All Hell Breaks Loose and a couple others I think.

One of the shows was at the old 9:30 and that along with a Bad Brains show or two were definately the most packed I ever saw that place.  So crammed in I felt like I was gonna pass out....like the people I was mashed up against were the only things keeping me up on my feet.  Fun shows though.

I wouldn't go to b-more for this though.  If it was in DC I'd probably go.

Used to be such a Misfits nut...still listen to their stuff sometimes.  In 11th grade I even got a little fiend skull tattooed on my arm jailhouse style with the needle and india ink.  Mom loved that.
