No hangover for me Grotty, I couldn't get a drink at that stupid club. They don't sell beer, they give you 2 beer tickets when you go in, but they stopped serving before 9:30, the Hip had only been playing for about a half hour. And they only have MGD and Lite, only on tap. Guess they aren't properly licensed or something. They even gave the Hip pitchers of beer for the dressing room, plus 2 bottles of bad wine and a few bottles of water and that's it! It's a Clear Channel venue apparently...they oughtta be ashamed of themselves. The Hip are very relaxed about that sort of thing, but I bet it doesn'y fly for their Joe Satriani show. And you were so right about the room, it's just a concrete box with a concrete floor, with no decor at all. Fortunately the Hip's sound engineer is quite excellent so they sounded OK, and played many of my favorite songs. I am looking forward to seeing them again next Monday at Recher Theater.
I didn't end up spending much time in Pittsburgh, it was such a nice day on Sunday that I got off the interstate and explored a bunch of back roads in the mountains on the way there instead of getting into town early enough to bum around. This morning I just took a walk by the river before heading out, no time to go into town to explore. But thanks to you and god's shoeshine for your suggestions anyway!
