Just wanted to give you all a shout-out about the next round of "We Fought the Big One," which is at the Marx Cafe this Friday, Nov. 4th from 10pm - 3am. The Big One is a monthly indie dj night that celebrates the weird and the wonderful, the moody and the magnificent. Using the classic sounds of 4AD, Factory & Creation as a starting place, my friend and partner in musical crime Brandon focus heavily on alternative and independent sounds well outside the mainstream---and with an international flavor---we've been known to spin artists from France, Japan, Belgium, Israel and of course, loads of stuff from the U.K. and U.S.
This month we will be joined by our good friend Ron Getts (aka DJ WrONg), who is no stranger to the DC music scene. Ron has djed at numerous venues over the years, including Orpheus, Bound, Club Asylum and Club Heaven. Ron is one of the most knowledgeable individuals I know when it comes to edgy underground music, and I'm definitely excited to hear what he'll be spinning...
