belated response about Cornelius- it was the best audio/ video integration I've ever seen at a club show;  I'm still wondering how they did some of the effects.  Matador is gonna release a Cornelius DVD  in January

i heard some stuff, but i seriously thought the live shows would be a bit more interesting... not to mention like you say.. everyone said they were floored.. well i had heard that about other shows.. so many people had said that it was the most amazing show they'd ever been to after seeing them that i was curious.

i thought the opening band, the album leaf, was boring, but i was proven wrong on that when sigur ros came out.  the jibberish got on my nerves after the second song maybe? that's the only time i've come close to walking out of a show.

My top five are:
 1. 2002/03/18 Bush/Default
 2. 1998/09/09 Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
 3. 2002/04/30 Garbage/Abandoned Pools
 4. 2002/10/20 Sleater-Kinney/The Quails
 5. 2002/01/30 The Charlatans UK/Starsailor

Though I've attended concerts at the 9:30 Club going back to 1996, I didn't start to really frequent the club until 2002 obviously.

Anyone know who the opening band was for Nick Cave on 1998/09/09? That was before I started keeping track of all the concerts I attend.

Did V for Vendetta play before The Quails on 2002/10/20 as scheduled? I got there late and saw some group performing, but someone said something to make me believe they weren't V for Vendetta.

I really wish there was an show archive on the Web for the 9:30 Club. That would be very useful.
