"Boys of Summer" covered by The Ataris
It's not the worst cover, they don't hack the song..but as O'Mankie said, some songs should be left alone.

Muse's cover of "Feelin' Good" is excellent.  But there are some crappy ones out there (311 doing the cure comes immediately to mind).

marc anthony's rendition of "lucy in the sky with diamonds" during the john lennon tribute in nyc.

"lucy! lucy! lucy!" (during the outro of the song...like he tried to turn it into this "i'm begging for lucy's love!!" song)

 it was laughably bad.

That song should never again be covered after Shatner.  How could you top the captain?

They just had a 1 hour show on covers on RTE2 (fm radio) prompted after the very positive reviews of the Beautiful South's new album....(mankie not in the majority on that then)

Anyway, has anyone heard Brian Adams cover Oasis's Wonderwall? As much as I hate to admit anything positive about pockface Adams, it's damn good. Noel Gallagher's comment when he heard it was, "Fuckin brilliant! That's the way that song was supposed to be sung"

 Honourable mentions on awful covers,

Atomic Kitten doing Blondies "Tide is high"

Rolph Harris doing "Stairway to heaven" (honestly, I heard it)

Some other girl band doing U2's with or without you.

It turns out a whole generation thought Nirvana's "man who sold the world" was actually original work by wankstain Cobain...FUCKING NERVE OF KIDS TODAY!

 Honourable mentions for great covers,

 Sid Vicous "My way"

Pearl Jam's cover of some Neil Young song.

 Hendrix cover of Dylans "watchtower"

Sinead O'Conners "Nothing compared to you" which was actually written by Prince for some other band evidently.

Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" cover was also voted as a good one in Ireland.

How's nutty Marc doing by they way?
