Feliz Labor Day!
« on: September 01, 2003, 03:36:00 pm »
happy labor day -- if it is a holiday that deserves cheerful greetings. how many of you are actually at work today instead of taking the day off to honor yourself for being a part of the work force? anyway, i'm stuck here at home getting lots of things done. and the board seemed a bit slow today. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I absolutely refuse to patronize most types of businesses on major holidays, especially something like Labor Day. Solely on principle!

I was off on Labor day, but we have to work our regular day off (today) to make up for it....kind of defeats the purpose don't you think?

Mankie, that's so wrong.  Completely defeats the purpose.  Which is what, by the way??

I watched five episodes of "Boy Meets Boy" while trying to organize a little of my life in my apt.  Got little organization done, but damn if I didn't pick out most of the straight guys!

   ;)

I hate those kinds of abuses!    ;)    [/b]
Yeah, the unappealing ones.
(No offense Straight guys, but that show is for Gay guys so the better ones will be more desirable, unless it fits the plot. Also, there is a very good reason why there is such a need for the show Queer Eye For The Straight Guy. Too many Straight guys need some serious help!)

If that's the show that I saw last year, you'd swear that 85% of males out there are Gay. Of course, sometimes I wonder.

The purpose of "paid holidays", how can an employer call it a paid holiday when you have to work you regular day off to pay for it..I'm still working 5 days this week. Shouldn't complain I suppose because up until a month ago I was working a six day week.

You Maineys (or whatever you call yourselves) are a strange bunch that's for sure...I had my classic mini registered in Maine because Maryland DMV are a bunch of morons, and everytime someone from that teenie weenie state saw it they would come up to me as though we were in a special secret society or something...what's up with that saco?

Well Mankie, you sort of answered your own question.  While "teenie weenie" certainly does not apply to geography, it is appropriate when discussing population.  So with only a bit more than a million folks living there, and very few like Guiny and myself who actually leave its quite shocking to see someone who you THINK may be from Maine.   And though we are a grouchy lot, we are usually quite nice too; well, at least to fellow Main-ah's living in exile.

Did you GO all the way up there to register the car??
