i knew that was going to happen when they didnt get Gonchar. He's pretty old though isnt he?  Why are the Leafs trying to get such old players, trying to be like the Red Wings i suppose. sigh.

And he really is SECOND choice behind Gonchar...oh well, beggars can't be chosers.

Who do you think will get Witt? I hope to God he stays for two reasons.....we need a defenseman like him to lead the backs, and he's my connection to free Caps tickets in VIP seating!!!!!

And Tie Domi

I saw in the box score the Bruins and Maple Leafs had three fights. One fight had Gary Roberts fighting against ex teamate Green who they say looked like he didnt want to be fighting.....Thats probably why we got rid of him......No panzies allowed on our team.....Well except for Antropov......For a big guy, he's an absolute wuss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this is the rebuilding of the caps that should have been an ongoing process.  Either we go way overboard in the acquiring big names, or go way overboard getting rid of them, I hope there is an inbetween after the new CBA.  That is of course if there still remains a Washington Capitals or an NHL for that matter.

another one bites the dust, and Sonick likes it!

 Bruins acquire Nylander

The Boston Bruins have acquired center Michael Nylander from the Washington Capitals in exchange for Boston's second round selection in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, it was announced today by Bruins General Manager Mike O'Connell. Nylander is expected in the lineup tonight when the Bruins host the New York Rangers at the FleetCenter in a 7:30 p.m. game.

"Michael is a proven scorer who gives us an additional offensive threat," said O'Connell. "He has fully healed from his injury and we look forward to having him on our team."

Nylander, 31, is in his 11th NHL season and Boston becomes his sixth NHL team. He has twice scored 20+ goals in a season and has scored 50+ points in each of his last four seasons, including a career-high 61-point campaign in 2001-02 as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks.

We're not exactly an old team

Nylander is 31 and we dont have ONE guy on our team older than Leetch.  :)
