Anton, I gave you the 1999 Beulah album, which I also like more than the 2001 album, although it is also good.

My favorite albums of the last few months -

 Postal Service - Give Up
Dandy Warhols - Welcome to the Monkey House
 Fruit Bats - Mouthfuls
Ted Leo - Hearts of Oak
 Shearwater - Everybody Makes Mistakes
 High Strung
Adam Green - Friends of Mine

Dandys, Out Hud, The Essex Green, Manitoba, Malkmus and especially Earlimart.  Oh yes, and Depeche Mode on tape.

but since i am not indie , i will have to say Hail to the Thief or Deloused in the Creamtorium.
I have been listening to Give Up a lot, too.

and you're right -- you're NOT indie!! It isn't Crematoruim... it's De-Loused in the Comatourium (remember the album is a concept album about the inner workings of their friend who had attempted suicide's brain...)

This summer I've been kind of listening to some old favorites, and the relatively new things such as  Black Eyes and Ted Leo. I really like the Shins, too.

I gotta say, however you spell it, the Mars Volta album's a bust.  Sounds way, waaay too proggy for my taste.

Black Eyes, on the other hand, continue to get better with age.  I was lucky enough to hear some demos for the new EP, and they sound stupendous...twice as dubby and three times as booty-shakin'.
