Oh sweet Jesus, yes, I was the first one to get to it. I thought for sure 3 or 4 other people would type it in faster than me.

While he was a journalist's journalist for most of his years, his legacy is going to be forever stained with his near traitorous actions in the Valerie Plame incident.

Character actor John Quade

John Quade, who played the heavy in some Clint Eastwood movies and was the sheriff in the television mini-series ?Roots,? died on Aug. 9 at his home in the Southern California desert town of Rosamond. He was 71.

Mr. Quade had dozens of television and movie roles in a career that spanned more than a quarter-century. His movies included ?Papillon? , ?High Plains Drifter?, and ?The Outlaw Josey Wales.?

He is perhaps best remembered as the motorcycle gang leader in the Eastwood movie ?Every Which Way but Loose? and its sequel, ?Any Which Way You Can.?

He also played Sheriff Biggs in episodes of ?Roots.?

Before he entered acting, Quade worked in the aerospace industry. According to his widow, he built parts that are still on the moon.
