i don't have a moral objection to viewing corpses so much as a personal aversion, as i'm the farthest thing possible from macabre (nope, never had a goth/undead phase   ).  i'll admit that i'm kinda curious from a medical point of view - the human body is fascinating - but my disgust has the upper hand.  reminds me too much of horror movies where the psycho killer (qu'est-ce que c'est?) flays his victims.  gross, not something i want to seek out.  puppies, rainbows and flowery fields, please.  thanks.

Um, or that's the big draw.  Think about it...you're innocently viewing a medical curiousity when, out of nowhere, the re-animated corpses of the worst criminal offenders China has to offer break out of their cages and wreck havoc on the city!

 And Doom - maybe you should check it out before you decide if its wrong/right. Based on the synopsis of it, I don't think its being presented in the light you seem to describe it as. I could be wrong... Rob???

I didn't think about it being too gross until I read the above posts and told my mom I'd take her and she said, "Ew, ick, no." Huh. Perhaps if I feel green, I can always leave. Otherwise, I think I'll be cool with it...?

you'll be fine. it's more like taxidermy than walking into a gross anatomy lab.. (all the specimen look like they've been preserved for at least 30 years)

i believe that doomie's objections stem from the fact that the origin of those bodies is murky.  they are from chinese prisoners who did not give their permission to be used in such a fashion, and their families were not asked either.  that's just the tip of the iceburg - just googled this link, plenty of others out there:  http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07172/795948-115.stm
 None of the people who once inhabited the bodies in Bodies gave their consent to be used this way, and that has made some folks profoundly uneasy. Their doubts are compounded by China's record of human rights abuses, including the harvesting of transplant organs from executed prisoners.

Well, I didn't hear all that...I just figured they came from the same place universities / medical centers obtain corpses...unless those are up for question too?

not sure about this bodies exhibit, but there's another group from germany that does the same sort of thing...it's called Körperwelten by a guy named gunther van hagan. i saw that exhibit at the franklin museum in philly last year after reading about his work in the book Stiff. his "subjects" are people who actually volunteer to donate their corpses directly to him...apparently, he gets thousands of applications from all over the world.
 
 the most amazing piece was a woman who was 7 or 8 months pregnant at the time of death. the description said she had some disease that made it likely she would die before carrying to term so she contacted gunther and volunteered herself for the project. she was plastinated in a boticelli-like pose with the cross section of her womb exposing the fetus inside. a bit disturbing, but beautiful too.
