As a comic book geek, please take my advice to skip Spider-man 3 until DVD, and skip the Fantastic Four 2 forever.  You'll thank me later.

If you go, report back on whether there are any Radioactive Man comics left.

i'll be at built to spill tonight. if you see me say hi. i'll be in a blue shirtdress with some like pinkish and red flower/dot things on it, tights and navy blue flats. i'll be with a bald irish guy with glasses and a beard, probably wearing a band t-shirt over a dress shirt.

yell at me from across the room, say hi or have a drink avec moi  :)

Not the best Tortoise show last night, but the encore was great, esp. "Benway" and "Glass Museum"!

recap: saw transformers on friday night.  decent action flick, although there were two atrocious moments where the horrible acting/dialogue should have been edited out.  overall a decent summer blow'em-up flick.

saturday i caught tortoise - meh.  didn't stay 'til the end, weren't engaging enough.  based on joe's comment above, maybe i bailed too early... during the day i watched snippets of live earth.

off to BBQ and play with kiddies.  should be a hoot   :)

Any word on the noise?  I've got to know...as geeky as it is, I won't commit to seeing it until I get the verdict.

ReelViews review by James Berardinelli

"Louder, flashier, and more hollow than anything else out there."

which noise?  the decepticon's "network infiltration" noise, or the general transforming noise when they go from car/helicopter/whatever to robot, or the overall noise of the movie?  in regards to that last point, the movie was LOUD at time at the chinatown cinema.  there were moments i wished i had my etymotics with me!

The general transforming noise.  Nothing beat making that noise as a kid and trying to change the toys in time.  You'd wind up sitting there "chit chewt chewt chewt"-ing for 20 minutes as you painstakingly made the 300 moves.

I have no doubt...but the thought of giant robots fighting has me a little geeked out, even though I'm sure it'll be turd city.  That, coupled with the nostalgia factor, have me itching to see it.
