I think the Flawd comment that initially offended some was "they should tie a sign saying nigger whatever around him and throw him out on the street..." Basically, Flawd was responding to a thread where people were angry about someone getting kicked out of the 9:30 Club, and Flawd's position was that they should have thrown him out on the street with an offensive sign on him that would potentially get his ass kicked given the racial makeup of the neighborhood. To me, that is funny. Sophmoric humor, but then again most humor on this board is just that. I don't think he was trying to incite racial violence, I think he was trying to be funny. Whether he was funny or not is questionable, but who in their right mind really thinks he was trying to incite racial violence? Flawd did not call anyone a "nigger", nor did he say that he hated black people. At least not in the initial post. Personally, I don't think the simple use of the word implies that someone is racist. And who here is without sin and feels self-righteous enough to judge people anyway?
At that point, people should have just done what Josh (ThatGuy) has advised me to do when people make offensive comments toward me: "Just ignore it, and it will go away." But people didn't. People on this board lead such mundane existences that they made retaliatory comments, and once Flawd had your attention, he was off to the races. At this point, he's going to day anything to keep the attention.
I find it humorous that people who supposedly have real professional jobs worry over nonsense that is posted on an internet chatboard, and let it consume so much of their time. With that, I'd better get back to work, and tune out until at least the time Flawd gets home from school and starts relishing in your attention.
[/qb][/QUOTE]an unfortunate thing about free speech is that you have to listen to what everyone else thinks
flawd, to me, is completely useless, not funny one bit, and i dont think he's even SEEN enough black folk to decide whether they are bad or not.
but banning him would set a bad tone. for sure.
and i think we should make markie an honourary moderator, and pay him so he can stop wasting someone elses payroll
