indeed, that's why i prefer your inputs than the afore-mentioned dupek. i don't agree with what you say, but i'll defend your right to say them (and my right to make fun of them). racist provocation, on the other hand, i won't defend. beu-bye.

I just thought there would be a little more adventurous thinkers/listeners on this message board who resent being fed the same things over and over and over again. Instead it seems this message board is full of people who in theory have an open mind but if you say one bad thing about Thom Yorke, Billy Corgan, Springsteen, Morrissey, etc. to them, you get tsk-tsked and exiled.
no, walalce, not exiled, just ridiculed if you seriously think that today's corpo-rock is original and owes nothing to its predecessors. if you want to listen to MCR, go for it, but don't pretend they're not hugely endebted to queen and bowie. and your knee-jerk reaction to anything more than 7 years old is just as funny as other boardee's knee-jerk to anything that sold more than 15,000 copies and is known by the mainstream.
the ability to recognise that certain rock acts are still relevant 20 or 30 years later means that one can listen without historical prejudice, IMO. keep in mind there are hundreds if not thousands of "old" bands we don't discuss because they haven't passed the test of time.
has it ever occured to you that you're the one with the closed mind?
