This is an Ataris song, actually.  But they screwed up the code.

 ATARIS LYRICS

"Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Start"

 today was a good day.
I didn't even have to use my a.k.
at least I didn't get my heart broken anyway
wasting time in east new jersey.
guess I could tell you 'bout
 the snow covered rooftops,
sunsets, shooting stars and picturesque backdrops.
or how I went and hung out at quick-stop
and pretended that I was in clerks.

sometimes you gotta stop and remember
that your not gonna live forever.
be young, think smart, stay true
 and just follow your heart.

remember the times we watched "karate kid"
 and memorized every line
skipped school and went to the arcade
hung out and played galaga all day.
stole a car and we drove to michigan.
 600 miles with no destination.
except to get in the car and drive
and see where we'll end up.

sometimes you gotta stop and remember.
that your not gonna be young forever.
think smart, have fun, stay true
 and don't ever grow up.

out of all I've learned in life
you always keep your friends close to your heart.
'cause who will help you if you're falling down.

 and everything is o.k.

I will be FAR more impressed if you can tell me that you were able to beat Contra with just 3 men.  I think that feat got me in the pages of Nintendo Power in my youth . . . . .

I used to be a Big Man on heat.net's Quake 2 deathmatch forums. It's shameful how proud I was every time I racked up 100 kills in maingate4. All I needed was a super shotgun and I could take down anyone, anytime. I got more props, respect and love from my Q2 brethren than I ever got from work or family.

I was in Nintendo Power for not only beating The Legend of Zelda, but for using graph paper to cover the entire wall in my buddy's bed room to map the game, including the second quest.

I got Nintendo Power at like 7. Some kid beat the original Zelda without ever getting the first sword. I tried to replicate this a trillion times (upper right hand corner of map, 150 rubies), then buy the candle and make your way to the bow in dungeon 1 and pray for bombs/boomerang to work, but it was freaking impossible. I still wonder how that guy did it.

Did that once, maybe.  We were more speed players though.

Although I did get into Nintendo Power one time...I was able to do that trick in Super Mario Brothers where you repeatedly jumped on a ricocheting turtle shell (worked best on the steps at the end of each board) until you get a bazillion lives.  I think the picture I took of the screen (that's right...nerd alert!) showed my extra lives as something with a crown and letters.  Must have gotten 40 or 50 extra lives.  I was always so proud of that*.

 *PS Still am  :(

I feel you.  My 2 proudest accomplishment gamer wise to this day may have been:

 1) Beating Rambo.  That game was hard as fuck.

 2) Beating Mike Tyson.  Getting past Mr. Sandman was nothing short of a bitch . . . .

I will place all on notice, that even after a 15+ year hiatus I will SLAY anyone here in some Karate Kid.  In those bonus rounds, I used to catch the fuck outta some flies with those chopsticks.    :(

Greatest/most ridiculous game ever: The Three Stooges game.  I still LOL when I think about playing Curly trying to grab the beans from the oyster soup.  Did anyone else play this?
