Kornheiser has always been funny. He's an entertainment writer posing as a sports writer . . . which is fine for espn which more and more is an entertainment channel posing as a sports channel. he's the voice of casual/"social" sports fans. Those who like the conversation but don't want to dig deep. I grew to hate him as a Post writer b/c as a local sports fan I felt the city needed a sportswriter who actually understood the sports they wrote about, not just some ahole making the same dumb "les boulez" jokes. As a comedian first, he seemed to have an interest in DC sports teams remaining terrible. What would he write about if our teams were actually good and not run by clowns? He doesn't make the games more interesting - he makes the conversation surrounding the game more interesting (like Mike Greenie Greenburg, another great host who straddles the line between good and tedious).
