just because the crowd stands there and can't comprehend the concept of a crowd enjoying a show while at a show, does not mean that when j. graces the stage--and thank you for the homeless spare change, that they chose the black cat home of all those wonderful, fog shows--it is anything less than everything you know as cool being there as an all needful thing of calling it real, fucking loud.

Dinosaur Jr is incredible live. J mostly just stands there and focuses on his solos but Lou and Murph are very energetic and jumping around and screaming. If anyone has passed on seeing DinoJr before now, you really should go. They're probably in my five favorite bands of all time.
 
 No offense to the 930 Club, but I'm really psyched that they're playing the Black Cat -- I've seen J. Mascis & the Fog at the Cat and Alley Katz but never Dino in a small venue like that. It'll be a HELL of a weeknight.

They ARE boring live.  Fact.  And you know what else, they are?   Shhhhh!  Really overrated!  
 
 Most of you are like five year-olds on Christmas Eve just ready to cream your pants when some "legendary" alt band comes around.  If you get excited by Dinosaur, Jr. you'd probably get REALLY excited if Billy Corgan got a bunch of hired guns together and called them the legendary "SMASHING PUMPKINS!"
