live? confirmed? yeay! i was sorta afraid it would be a DJ set, but $18 would be a lot. luckily digitalism's live set-up is pretty small.

Never been to dar. Any heads up on what this place is like?
people seem to fall into two camps:
- the largest is the "worse venue evar" camp. complaints: it's chairs and not GA, security tries to keep people in their seats, can't bring drinks to the main hall (i.e. to your seat), it's too posh - doesn't feel like a venue where rock should be played, and the big daddy: sound sucks. on this last point: DAR was designed for speeches, graduations and violin recitals. good sound is dependent on a good sound tech team that knows what they're doing with that particular space, which isn't a given.
- personally, i'm in the "i like DAR" camp. i've seen about two dozen shows there and other than the very minor complaint of not having a beer in my hand, i like the somewhat refined look and feel of the place. it's perfect for acoustic shows (acoustic foos = one of my top five shows ever). for rock concerts, good sound is to be had in the front half of the room (for dream theater, i'd only consider going if i could get floor seats in the first 15 rows, otherwise i fear the echo will be overwhelming). i'm also a fan of the box seats, great & comfy sight lines. edit: the sweet spot for boxes are 13 through 22.
