I actually went to the Chili Cookoff a couple of years ago just to see one band, and had a blast.  All the other bands playing were pretty much horrible, and the guys I went for played last (and then got cut off which SUCKED), but I don't think SSPU would play late at all, as most people will not be there to see them so much as the others.
 
 Plus...free chili.  And last time, free beer EVERYWHERE.
 Running into three of my teachers at the event was priceless.

I was dragged to a Warped Tour the year after I graduated HS and one of the school's English teachers was there. Without a shirt on. With a girl who would've only been a junior then. It was icky.

In eight years of teaching, I've only seen students at shows a few times - my music doesn't really match up with the tastes of 15 year olds.  But when it does happen, its goddamn uncomfortable.  Its not easy to be a a teacher and a fan at a show at the same time.

yeah, there are two teachers at our school that hang out a lot...one of them i've had...have seen them at a bunch of shows.
 and then once my science teacher snuck up on me at the 9:30.
 
 the great part about the chili cookoff ordeal was that one of my teachers (my phys ed teacher at the time) was WORKING at the show.  and you know...the thing is basically an all day beer fest...to WORK there..you know.  i saw a lot of breasts that day.  me and my teachers.
