wow, thanks for the heads-up about the dumpy on-site accommodations.
from their FAQ:
"The first batch of three day festival passes are on sale Friday April 25th @ 10AM EST at
http://www.atpfestival.com with and without accommodation. More tickets will be on-sale shortly after with accommodations in a nearby hotel. Shuttle buses will run between the second hotel and Kutshers."
i wonder what the deal is with the offsite nearby hotel. based on those reviews, they can't be any worse... then again, as one reviewer mused, "how much time do you spend in your room anyways?"
EDIT: just made myself a reservation at the Super8 in Monticello. cheaper ($300 for the weekend instead of $450), and while not fancy at least you know it'll be clean. they don't charge your credit card to hold the reservation and you can cancel until the day before - i'd suggest grabbing a reservation as a back-up. google maps indicated there is an Econo Lodge, Travel Inn, and other cheap options in town.
