These songs are from the 60s. They released some music in the 70s but probably most of what you are thinking of is from the late 60s. But I fully agree that they put out some great, rocking music that is just as strong today as it was back then.

Indeed, you are right. Bayou and Green River were both 1969. But they probably didn't come on in my upstate NY redneck town until 1970.  :)

Cosmo's Factory came out in the summer of 70 and is right up there with my favorite CCR:
 
 "travelin' band"
 "lookin' out my back door" (can't be separated now from 'the big lebowski', makes it even better)
 "who'll stop the rain"
 "long as i can see the light"

Yeah, I know but, in my opinion, they just don't stand up to their earlier works. Their balls were shrinking by then. But, like I said, that's just my opinion.
 
 Then again, going back to Rhett's post, it all depends on whether or not he'd include it on this list since that's what this all goes back to.
