i am extremely pissed about this.  i was in contact with their booking agent every five days about this, and i offered them a sizeable guarantee.  i can't imagine lambert offering more than i did.  they would have been perfect headliners, and now they go up against michael chapman, amps for christ, the black twigs, and others.  i'm so sick of booking agents not doing what's right for their bands.  i'm sure he's real stoked to get $5 more out of his ten percent.

Hey Snailhook -

Think you could rope Seefeel into playing DC or Baltimore when they are in the US in June?

Second Seefeel.

And yeah; if you have not yet seen Dark Sea Dream live yet, prepare to be blown away. Speaking of which, Julian Cope posted a nice review of their last record recently.

would love to, but doubt i'd be able to front the money for them.  velvet lounge is being very careful about guarantees these days, and i have absolutely nothing right now to back a guarantee if i lose money.  i'll have to do some research and see who is booking them, and what kind of offer they're looking for.

Yeah, that's one of the last places I expected to find that.

New album is pretty decent.

yeah, that's pretty good, surprisingly for spin.  i'm pretty stoked on the new album, as it features victor griffin of the classic '80s lineup.  if you haven't, check out the pentagram album liebling did with internal void, from 2005, called "show 'em how."  it's basically internal void (who were always vastly underrated) backing liebling on some new songs, and reworking a couple of old pentagram gems.

Yeah I need to buy the new Pentagram, I heard a couple songs love 'em. Oh man Internal Void! I still rock my "Standing on The Sun" cassette all the time! I don't think I have heard the "Show 'em How" songs but I did see the trainwreck when Bobby was backed by them at the Black Cat in 2005.

Agree and agree.

As you and Joe know, Sonic Boom literally knocked me off my feet even before the show started! (Inside joke yet literally true.)

Definitely like SVI's new direction. It's not just full of great Psychedelic droning noises but more attention was invested into writing good melodic songs. Makes for a very good balance.
