Amy Winehouse is nominated all over the place.  Here's to hoping she wins so there will be even more shitshowtastic videos of her on the Internet.

I'm going to it and the pollstar awards. Amy was nominated for  Pollstar's best new touring artist.  I really hope she wins over someone who actually toured.

I hope Ms Winehouse has a very merry christmas because she's on my celebrity death watch for 2008.

is it wrong of me to think that kanye will sweep the stage, because of his mom's death, since awards shows awards and nominees embroiled in tragedy go together like custard and egg and alcoholic products.

Oh, I'm sure..and when has the Grammy's (or any other awards for that matter) been of any relevance to what's good and what's shite?

Meh.

I'm excited to hear the Beck/Jamie Lidell colabboration that was recorded earlier this year, though. Hopefully that's released soon in some fashion.

I'm amazed The Foo Fighters have a new album out.  How many dicks did Dave Grohl have to suck to get those nominations?  What?  The voters finally saw "Unplugged in New York" and decided to throw him a bone?

Could somebody please give me empirical evidence that the Foo Fighters are a better band than Creed, Nickelback or Papa Roach?  I know they have more cred (simply because their drummer was in Pearl Jam or Soundgarden or something) but I believe they are just an awful, awful, cliched "rock" band.  Have the Foo Fighters ever done anything original?

Damn, you beat me to it. Foo Fighters five nominations, Spoon zero. That just about sums up the Grammy's for this year, doesn't it?

The Foo Fighters are way more inspirational than Nickelback.  They are my favorite posi-rock band!

I'm amazed The Brian Wallace posted in this thread . Did listening to Fallout Boy really get him pumped up this morning? What? Did yelling at fresh music listening iPod owning hipsters on his lawn not work?

Could somebody please give me empirical evidence that the Brian Wallace is a better person than say Brian_Walalce, Brian_Wallace or Pete Wentz? I know he has more cred (simply because he figured out how to change his display name) but I believe he just a bitter, bitter, cliched  old dude who thinks he's in touch with his girlie side. Has Brian Wallace ever done anything original?

Is this the same Brian Walalce who posts on the Downbeat message board telling everyone that Miles and Coltrane are the worst musicians ever and that everyone needs to listen to Chris Botti?

Foo Fighters do seem to release the same album every three years . . . but when it works it works.  The new video/song featuring 'The Dave Grolston Band' is awesome.

Grammys are all about production values, nothing more or less.
