I agree...I'd fallen more on the Son Volt side of post-Tupelo until seeing Wilco live on the Being There tour.

hard to put AM at the bottom, so many classic tracks on there and they sound "limber", like they're actually having fun while making the album

Wow.  I guess all of Jeff Tweedy's talk over the past year about being frustrated with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot lately is pretty true.  That was some serious country-fried Wilco.  Very good show, but it felt like this band's goal is now to turn almost everything in their catalog into something off Being There.  Of course, if that means sets ending like this:

 Red-Eyed and Blue
I Got You (At the End of the Century)
 Monday
 Outtamind (Outtasite)

then I'm pretty cool with that.  What a run they pulled off there.

I wonder if tomorrow is gonna be the same sort of show, or if they saved up all the noise-rock shenanigans for one show.  I'm very much wishing I bought tickets for both nights now.

I'm crossing my fingers for that one tonight.  All in all, great setlist, and I was happy to hear a bunch of songs I never thought I'd hear live, being on the newer side of Wilco listening.

I couldn't have been more psyched for "Too Far Apart."

Were you the douchebag behind me who kept yelling "Box, Box, Box" along with "Wear your green sportcoat, the one you wore on Conan?"

Amazing. They blew me away. Can anybody help me with some more board cliches?

Definitely ranked among the best Wilco shows I've seen. I want to say the best, but how can you compare the Wilco of today with the Wilco of 1995? Sure, maybe they're headed back in the direction, but it still seems like a different band.

And thanks to the chubby, dark haired beauty behind me. Your off-key and incredibly loud singing was so fucking pretty. You even managed to drown out Jeff's singing in my ears quite a bit. And your shouts of "Tweee-dy, Tweeee-dy"...very creative! Thanks for enhancing my show experience!

I thought I saw you as I was heading out last night, but the crowd was a little too stifling for me to try to say hello.

I was wonder what your taken would be several times through the show, especially with comparing the former line-up with the current on.  As a relatively new fan (probably only been listening for 8 or 9 years, I guess), I'm shocked by how fierce they can be, but also how mellow and downright pretty.  Still, I could see how someone would prefer the more straight-ahead approach of the line-up that (I'm guessing) you saw.  Glad to hear you liked it...I'd worry if you didn't  :D

By the way, does the second guitarist/keyboardist annoy anyone else?  I get it, you like to windmill and hold the guitar at funny angles.  Too bad your stuck to the side of the stage for a reason...

Very balanced setlist. Definitely one of the best Wilco shows ever. And I still can't believe they played "Too Far Apart"! I don't think I've seen them play it (11 year wilco concertgoer here...)

I was hoping to hear "nothingsgonnastandinmywayagain". They played it in Philly...*sigh*

Dean & Britta tonight. Have fun tonite!
