Would love to see Kim and the gang, but Love Is All is playing at the Black Cat! Oh yeah, I think Brandon and I are supposedly spinning some records between bands too...

Big Brown beat you to the finish line on that one. [/b]
you've been waiting all day for an appropriate time to break that one out, haven't you?

You gotta admit it was well-placed.

 wait, michael stipe is gay?
According to the pinnacle of journalism that is Parade Magazine, I think they mentioned stipe is an equal-opportunity boner.

Anyone see the Breeders open for Nirvana at Bender Arena? I actually enjoyed them more than Nirvana. The Boo Radleys played the old club that night, that was a tough show conflict. In retrospect, I think I made the right choice because I got to see the Boos 3 years later.

The Breeders play tuneless crap.

And the chicks are old and fat.

Remind me what their appeal is?

Well, the appeal to me is that you hate them. That's reason alone for me to check it out.  :)

Love is All is playing the ottobar tonight, if anyone was sad about missing out tomorrow...

I saw the Breeders at the ottobar last tour, and unfortunetly, REM and Modest Mouse take the trophy for me on Wednesday.

Their debut is f'ing amazing...but i think they owe that as much to Steve Albini as anything else.  One of his finest efforts...

 After that, meh.

I think Pod's brilliance has more to do with the original line-up and Tanya Donnelly's presence. Also, Kim Deal was still in her Pixies-era prime.

Albini tends to get to the core of artists' sound, but I don't think his production enhances anything that's not inherently good.

 He also produced Title TK.
