The Diamondback, as usual, goes for sensationalist reporting and doesn't even really know the facts. They neglected to mention that part of the reason the DJs were fired is because they were also cursing on the air ... which we are expressly forbidden to do.
I don't know. It's ridiculous and annoying, and makes the station look really bad -- we seriously don't need that. They're trying to turn this into a free speech issue, when it's really just two assholes trying to cause trouble (I could maybe see them doing this over a decent band, but ... Chevelle?). They chanted "Chevelle" over and over again for ten minutes after we were all asked not to promote it on the air -- that's not about exercising their right to free speech, that's purposely trying to piss off the GM and stir up shit.
I will be VERY glad when Art Attack is over and I don't have to hear about Chevelle again.
(Also, we have a better broadcasting radius now and also stream online ... sigh, who am I kidding?)
