Do people really get shit-faced drunk at Superbowl parties? Is that what the kids are doing nowadays? Damn kids with all their rock'n'roll and fisting.

people get shit-faced every sunday just watching regular NFL games, don't see why SB would be any different... although food is a big part of the game, it's harder to go blotto on a tummy full of chili and ribs.  but yeah, you're probably right, most folks probably don't get too wasted at SB parties - it's a family event, after all (RE: wardrobegate).

i'd assume that a lot of steelers fans woke up a little fuzzy this morning :)

The only difference between Super Bowl Sunday and any other NFL Sunday is that had the Cardinals prevailed, I would have beaten out the crap out of my wife.

Well, not exactly, but for a long time the were false reports that there are more cases of domestic violence on Super Bowl Sunday than any other day of the year.

And of course I have to make light of that...so every year I tell smackette that I'm going to whip her ass if I lose too much money and every year she kicks mine (because I lose too much money).

I got shut out as well.  Hoping for a drop closer to the show.  I did score great seats for Philly though!

The row and seat number are just for tracking purposes, so they know how many are allowed in that capacity.

Anybody know what the floor capacity at Verizon is?  I got #'s 93-94, but I think there'll be a few more people down there.... ;)

totally agree with the critics on this one

Some reviewers say the Boss's 16th studio album is "classic" (that's what 5 stars in Rolling Stone means), but most are not that kind. What critics around the country do agree upon, however, is that track #4 is the worst song Springsteen has ever written.

"Queen Of The Supermarket" is a hokey ode to the girl behind the checkout counter at the grocery store.

With my shopping cart I move through the heart
Of a sea of fools so blissfully unaware
That they're in the presence of something wonderful and rare
The way she moves behind the counter
Beneath her white apron her secret remains hers
This is a sampling of the critical response:

"The worst song Bruce Springsteen has ever written."
- Detroit News

"At the 3:00 mark, it accidentally turns into a Meatloaf song."
- Blender

"Removes this record from consideration as one of the best releases of his career."
- Chicago Tribune

"Unintentionally ludicrous."
- San Jose Mercury News

"Unbelievably melodramatic ... sounds like someone doing a Springsteen parody."
- Orlando Sentinel

"Might be the worst song Springsteen has ever released."
- Philadelphia Inquirer

"May be the worst thing he's ever written."
- Pitchfork

I'm a big fan, and I agree that the song is horrible.  I don't think it holds the album back from being one of the best of his career though - I don't think it's a very strong album in general.

Honestly though i still have not heard it all the way through yet, but so far not enjoying it nealy as much as his last, which i actually listen to from time to time.

*EDIT*

"A dream awaits in isle number 2"  may be one of the stupidest lyrics ever.....

Maybe he's singing about an island called Isle #2?  Right next door to Gilligan's Isle?
