apocalyptica.  either "reflections" for a bit of variety, or their metallica covers album if that suits your fancy.  finnish cello metal.

are you serious?!? i can only assume you are chilean and roughly 55 years old. unless they did some sort of reunion show in the past 35 years.

those two aguaturbia albums are mindblowing, simultaneously way ahead of their time and yet tied to their era. sort of like a cross between jefferson airplane and black sabbath, interjected with beautiful chilean traditional folk elements. every time i play them at the velvet lounge, people always ask me what's playing.

and most people here probably think i make this shit up...

you should at least get the single of althea and donna's "uptown top ranking," only one of the greatest pop songs ever.

Air Miami -- Me Me Me

One of my favorite LPs. And if you can track down the "Airplane Rider/Stop Sign" 7" that's a big bonus. Great stuff.

This was on my original list, but I swapped it for The Art Of Noise.  Highly recommended.

I'm Chilean, yes, thank you for asking, but Im not 55 years old, they did one reunion concert a few years ago, probably 2003, and it was great, I went with a friend visiting from Paris and at the end of the show he was cheering and applauding like mad men...I got my Aguaturbia T-shirt that night   :D

lagas, i am very jealous of you. seeing aguaturbia would be a dream come true. i bet even in their fifties, they kicked ass.
