--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FBS is grreeeeeat! I am really looking forward to the Meridien Pint brunch where they tap FBS, CBS, two years of KBS, Blushing Monk and Backwoods Bastard

For only $10 more the Founders brunch at Meridian is a slam dunk compared to that one.

this is the first i've heard of this brunch - why didn't you tell us about it before?!?
http://dcbeer.com/2011/11/15/meridian-pint-hosts-founders-beer-brunch/

the founders brunch is actually $25 more - there is an obligatory $10 gratuity and $5 tax, so $65 total.

i'm running a 15 km that morning... this might be the perfect recoup meal ;D

finally hit up churchkey tonight for the first time.  yes, bad boy, bad.

enjoyed:
MAHR'S BRÄU WEISSE
SCALDIS TRIPLE BLONDE
KASTEEL TRIPEL
SCALDIS NOËL
PANNEPOT
FOUNDERS BREAKFAST STOUT
(from http://www.birchandbarley.com/documents/CKDRAFTWEDNESDAY11-16-2011.pdf)

favs: scaldis tripel, scaldis Noel, and the breakfast stout (obviously).  pannepot was quite interesting but not quite a top 3 of the evening.  all beers were on tap.

in reality what i enjoyed the most was the fact that someone else picked up the tab ;D  that, and the deep fried mac and cheese.  yes, i know you're not supposed to like it - but you try resisting that.  <game=over>

speaking of Ommegang, local Costcos now have their Holiday gift packs

3 750s (Three Philosophers, Gnomegang and Hennepin) plus a nice tasting glass for 21.99 - seems like a great deal to me

But getting a Costco membership would kill my indie cred.

Trader Joes Vintage Ale 2011 out next week.

Great value, very good Belgian, made by Unibroue.

Or just get a four pack of your favorite Unibroue beer. It's about the same cost per ounce.

FYI there is this great alternative to the minivan called "the metro" :P

no way in hell i was driving after that many beers.  i could have gotten in an accident and damaged my car.

thanks, i'm on that.  their last special batch, millenium, was really nice.  wasn't made by unibroue, tho.  do you know how much the Vintage 2011 will sell for?

I got one last year.  The glass has a nice shape but the gold trim isn't holding up too well after a year of use.

Let us know what you think of that one. Reviews I've read have been mixed. It's a beer made with chilis.

I just bought a chilli pepper porter...Left Hand Fade to Black Vol. 3. Not a big fan of that brewery, but their Fade to Black series has been excellent, and this one it too. $9.49/six pack minus $1 coupon at Total Wine.

Also got a four pack of Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. $7.49 minus $1 coupon.

Headed to the midwest for the holiday. Hope to bring home beer by Three Floyds, Half Acre, Goose Island, Columbus Brewing, and The Brew Kettle.

I randomly found a few bottles of DFH's Bitches Brew at the Springfield Whole Foods on Saturday (just FYI in case you missed out on the limited run). They also have a favorite from when I lived in Richmond, Legend's Brown Ale. I was hoping to find some of the beers from this thread but the three year old claimed that looking a bottles was "boring".
